It varies by child, but many families begin focusing on school readiness skills in the year or so before their child transitions into a classroom setting, whether that is preschool or kindergarten.
When it is helpful and with your permission, yes. We can coordinate with school staff through Coordinated Care Conferences to align on goals and expectations.
Yes. These skills can still be built and reinforced even after school has started, especially around new routines, transitions, or a new school year.
No. School Readiness is part of your child’s therapy plan and can complement school-based supports like an IEP, but it does not replace that separate school process.
For most families enrolled in Medical Assistance, MinnesotaCare, or MA-TEFRA, school readiness goals are covered as part of the EIDBI benefit when included in your child’s treatment plan.
